Sharon Roseann Seitz

Sharon R. “Sherry” Seitz passed away on March 20, 2026, at her home in Bellingham, Washington. She was born on May 5, 1944, in Freeport, Illinois, to Vernon and Betty (Schmidt) Weckerly.

Sherry graduated from Freeport High School in 1962 and went on to attend nursing school at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago. She later lived in Florida before moving to Los Angeles in 1966. In 2018, she made Bellingham her home, where she lived at Affinity and quickly grew to love the community.

Sherry worked as a registered nurse and occupational nurse throughout her career. She served at Orange County Hospital in Orlando, Florida, Daniel Freeman Hospital in Inglewood, California, and Kaiser Permanente. She also worked with Hughes Aircraft and Raytheon, bringing her care and dedication to each role she held.

Sherry had a deep love for her faith, her family, and bringing joy to others. She especially cherished making Christmas a magical and meaningful time for those she loved. She had a passion for music, particularly Elvis, and found happiness in meeting new people, nurturing friendships, and caring for her plants and flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Betty Weckerly, and her brother, Ronald Weckerly.

Sherry is survived by her daughters, Valerie Silva (Brian) and Carole Seitz (Jeff); her grandchildren, Amanda Hotchkiss, Finnian Seitz-Gregoire, and Madison Silva; and her nieces, Heidi Berardi and Ginnie Weckerly.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, at Westford Funeral Home. Sherry will be laid to rest at Bayview Cemetery in Bellingham.
