Ryan Philip McFadden, 43, passed away on August 11, 2026. He was born on February 21, 1983, and graduated from Mercer Island High School. Ryan went on to enjoy a successful career as an entrepreneur.
Ryan loved the outdoors and was happiest boating, camping, or fishing. He collected unique crystals and had a remarkable green thumb, evident in his thriving orchids and beautiful gardens. Ryan had a heart of gold. He was thoughtful, generous, and always quick to lend a hand when someone needed help.
Those who knew Ryan will remember his big personality, contagious laugh, sense of humor, and love of a good adventure. His family shared these words that capture his spirit:
“When the sun shines and the rain glistens, the beard can be seen in the clouds. Seda howls and Yeva cries, carrying the joy of a familiar smile. The laugh is loud and contagious; the shenanigans flow. All pointing to the clock where the little hand says it is time to rock and roll.”
Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rose and Hassel Schjelderup and Virginia and John McFadden.
He is survived by his mother and father, Kim and Ron McFadden; his older brother, Michael, who was his best and closest friend; and his younger sister, Courtenay. The three siblings were “thick as thieves” growing up and shared a close bond throughout their lives.
