Bob Glenovich, age 79, passed away in Bellingham on January 5, 2021. He was born October 1, 1941 in Bellingham to Paul and Nadine (Johnson) Glenovich. Bob graduated from Bellingham High School in 1959. He married Sharon Norberg on November 23, 1963 at Sacred Heart in Bellingham. His greatest passion in life was commercial fishing. Bob started fishing at age 13 and was active in the fishing industry his entire life. He fished his purse seiner St. Zita throughout Alaska, Washington and California. Bob’s generosity and kind spirit was evident as his boat was known as the “supply ship”, always stocked with extra supplies and always ready to help other fishermen. The joke was he had a spare for every spare! Bob enjoyed watching his sons and grandsons in their sports endeavors and his recent European and Panama Canal travels with his wife and family. He was a hands-on person who enjoyed fixing things at home and on his boat. Bob was an active participant in the Bellingham waterfront and was a servant leader in the industry. Bob’s family and the fishing community will miss his social personality, his generosity, and his quiet strength. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Sharon Glenovich, his son Paul (wife Annick) Glenovich and their son Blaise, son Michael Glenovich and his sons Taylor and Ashton, brother Bill (wife Dianne) Glenovich, sister Ann (husband Roy) Tonnessen, and many loving relatives and friends. The family plans to host a celebration of Bob’s life at the waterfront at a later date. A virtual livestreaming service is scheduled for Friday, January 15th at 10 AM.
