Nena O’Connell

On June 25th, 2021 surrounded by family, Nena O'Connell peacefully passed away and is now in Heaven teaching angels how to gracefully love. Known for her epic dress up parties, world famous margaritas and her generous bright spirit, Nena shared her table, her food, her heart and her warmth with family and friends alike.
In this life, not much is certain. Nena embraced this reality by living life to the fullest— making each and every day of her 57 years count. She fiercely loved her children, afternoons spent in the park with her mother, and traveling the world with her beloved husband.
Nena battled cancer with a smile on her face and a sparkle in her eyes. Heaven is surely celebrating her arrival, while the ones she loved here on Earth are simply grateful to have gotten the chance to share in her light.
Please honor Nena by appreciating every sunset and full moon, cherishing every moment spent with family and making every day a celebration of how truly beautiful life is.
Nena was preceded in death by her father Rogelio. She is survived by her mother Maria Elena, her loving husband of 31 years, Larry, daughter Esti (fiancée Max), son Gustavo, brothers Rogelio, Fernando and Gustavo, and many loving relatives and friends in the U.S. and Mexico. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Assumption on Thursday, July 1st at 10:30 AM followed by a reception at 12 noon at the Bellingham Golf & Country Club.
