Michael Francis Stromberg was born in Havre, Montana on October 18, 1935, and passed away in Bellingham, Washington on May 18, 2025.
Michael grew up in Great Falls and worked in trucking in Havre. Later, he worked in Southern California and finally retired in Santa Cruz.
He moved to Bellingham with his mother, Evelyn “Toots” Stromberg, to be closer to his brother, Jack. Michael and Toots enjoyed their duplex on Eldridge Avenue with a view of Bellingham Bay.
Michael moved to Spring Creek Retirement in 2021. He enjoyed a 3 PM martini before dinner and maybe one or two before bed. Those who knew him knew Michael like the finer things in life: cashmere sweaters, colorful slacks, and expensive shoes. After his favorite dinner of crabcakes and a glass of Riesling, Michael would say that he was “replete”.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude for the compassionate attention Michael received from Dr. Sumner McAllister, the dedicated and thoughtful care from the Spring Creek Retirement community, and the heartfelt support from Eden Hospice in his final days.
Michael is survived by his sister-in-law, Bernadette Stromberg; nephews, Jon Stromberg and his wife Carol, and Andrew Stromberg and his wife Kimberly; and grandnieces and nephews, Kendall, Hannah, Cameron, Natalie, and Mia.
