Dr. Lisa Kristine Drinkwater, DMSc, PA-C, AE-C, was born in Seattle, WA on September 8, 1971, to Jerrold Bruce and Virginia Ann Henry. She passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2025.
Lisa grew up in Silverdale, WA, where she graduated with Honors from Central Kitsap High School in 1989. She attended Western Washington University where she met her husband, Ted, and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1994. She later attended Baylor College of Medicine and graduated with Honors in 1997.
Shortly after they were married, Lisa and Ted moved to Ferndale, WA, and built a house with their two children, Hallie and Cole. As a family, they raised pigs, chickens, sheep, and cattle. Lisa used that experience to teach Hallie, Cole, and other members of their 4-H club. She was a proud wife who deeply loved her family.
Lisa served communities across the Pacific Northwest as a PA-C in family practice, specializing in Allergy and Immunology for over 20 years. She later transitioned into a new role as a Medical Science Liaison, focusing on respiratory science. While working full-time, she earned her Doctorate in Medical Science from Rocky Mountain College in 2021. Lisa was loved by patients and admired by colleagues across the country, and her legacy will continue through them all.
Lisa loved music and dance. She played the flute and piano and practiced ballet throughout her teenage years. In college, she toured with the Blue Devils A Corps, winning the highest Color Guard honors at the 1990 DCI World Championship. She passed on her musical wisdom and expertise to her children and other members of their school bands.
She also cherished the outdoors, the ocean, and looked forward to fishing trips and boating adventures with Ted.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Ted Drinkwater, of Ferndale, WA; daughter, Hallie (with her fiancée, Noah), of Vancouver, WA; son, Cole, of Salt Lake City, UT; and parents, Jerrold and Virginia, of Blaine, WA. She will be deeply missed by extended family, friends, co-workers, patients, and all who were fortunate to know her.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 15 at the Bellingham Yacht Club (2625 S Harbor Loop Dr.). A reception will follow.
