Linda Kaye Erickson

November 27, 1947 — June 25, 2025

Bellingham

Linda Kaye Lee Erickson, age 77, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Whatcom Hospice House in Bellingham, WA.

She was born on November 27, 1947 to Billie Gene and Kathryn Davis Lee in Yakima, Washington. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 51 years, Pastor David Erickson, four children, son Chris and his children Malia, Bright and Daisy, daughter Angie (Armando) Brionez and their children Armando and Copper, daughter Aimee (Jono) Stark and their children Hudson, Ollie and Jersey, and daughter Alisa Erickson. Linda grew up mostly in Selah, Washington with brothers Larry Lee and Randy Lee, sister Patty O'Callahan, half-sister Kathy Lynn Doerflinger and step-siblings Judy Schott, Janet Schott, Barb Tatro, Skip Schott and Ted Schott (deceased). She also leaves behind many loving relatives and 'a million' friends, including scores of students at Whatcom and Shuksan Middle Schools.

On their wedding day, June 22, 1974, David and Linda stood at the front of Immanuel Bible Church, the very place they met in 1970, and began a journey of love rooted in Christ Jesus. Since then, they built a beautiful legacy of four amazing children, eight treasured grandchildren, a circle of loving in-laws and a lifetime of friendships woven through churches, ministry, schools, and community. Through it all, one thing remained constant: their deep, steady love for each other and their unshakable devotion to Jesus. Linda was one of a kind and was the one God picked just for David and their children.

Linda graduated from high school in Selah, Washington in 1966 and from Western Washington State College (WWU) in Bellingham, WA in 1970. While David was in seminary in Portland, Oregon (1974-78), she worked at Foxboro Company and US Bank. She was a homemaker while their kids were youngsters and then she worked as attendance secretary at Whatcom Middle School and Shuksan Middle School for over 30 years. She dearly loved the kids, even or especially the naughties. Linda loved her own kids and grandkids and was affectionately known as Nonni. She loved to 'zip and zoom' in her Forester (she called her Jitney) all around town and country. “I made two new friends today!” She was a fanatic about Sunriver, line dancing, and quilting. She loved everything about water: oceans, lakes, and rivers. She did daily “drive-bys” of Bellingham Bay but also would often sit at Zuanich Park reading her Bible and praising God for His beautiful creation while David did his run along the bay.

She was the consummate cheerleader of all people, especially her kids and grands. She understood and watched basketball, football and baseball and cheered for both the Huskies and the Cougars. She was loyal to a fault and was quick to 'rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep.' (Romans 12:15) Because of her trust in Jesus' atonement for her sin, she knew she had an appointment in Glory to be with Him. And we know that she didn't get there too soon or too late from God's perspective. But it's always too soon for those of us who loved her and relied daily upon her cheerful countenance and expressions. She often quoted, 'For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.' (Philippians 1:21) On June 25th, she didn't see death. She saw Jesus and is with Him now and forever! And we'll see her again.
