Kenneth William "Kenny" Keenan passed away on August 14, 2026, in Bellingham, WA.

Kenny was born in Queens, New York, which explains his beautiful New York accent. He began school at St. Teresa of Avila Grammar School, and around 1958, he and his family moved to Rosedale, New York, where he attended St. Clare's Elementary School, where he made lifelong friends.

As a youth, Kenny was a gifted basketball player and loved all sports. After high school, he got a job with the telephone company and eventually transferred to Bellingham, where he met the love of his life, Georganne Sakelaris. While in Bellingham, Kenny worked for Pacific Northwest Bell and made lifelong friendships with his colleagues before ultimately retiring in 2005. Kenny and Georganne enjoyed their retired life, playing tennis, golf, and pickleball, and enjoying many dinners with friends and family on their patio. He also gave back to the community by volunteering at the hospital for 15 years.

Kenny loved the holidays, especially Christmas, and was happiest while gathering with his loved ones and celebrating. He made the holidays sparkle. Retirement meant more time to spend with loved ones and also meant he and Georganne could travel to visit family in Texas and soak up the sun during the rainy months in Palm Desert. Kenny will be remembered by his friends and family for his big heart, his wonderful sense of humor, and his generosity of spirit. Kenny was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, son, and friend. He was truly loved and will be deeply missed.

Kenny was preceded in death by his sister, Mary. He is survived by his wife, Georganne; son, Brian, daughter, Maryellen; brother, Richard (Lori); nieces, Rebecca and Ruthanne; and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.

Per Kenny's wishes, no services will be held. May his memory be eternal.
