Harry Allison passed peacefully July 15, 2025 while in the tender care of Whatcom Hospice House. He was born in Sylva, North Carolina to Harry Sr. and Edna Allison. His childhood was spent in Skagit Valley where he graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School. Harry was recruited by the University of Idaho to play football. There he joined Sigma Nu fraternity and met his wife, Lyn.
In 1966, Harry began a 35-year career with Intalco. During that time, he had the pleasure of working with many people he greatly respected, and with whom he formed long-term friendships. He retired in 2003 as HR director at Alcoa Intalco. Harry served on several community boards, including Red Cross, Bellingham Parks and Recreation, and Bellingham Food Bank, on whose board he was a member for 14 years.
Harry loved to golf and was up for a game at the drop of a tee. He looked forward to yearly rounds on Monterey Peninsula with his brother-in-law. He especially enjoyed rounds and good times with his long-time foursome at Lake Padden Golf Course.
Harry was predeceased by his son, Jeff Allison and sister, Mary Ann Welch. He is survived by the family he loved — his wife, Lyn; grandson, Luke; sister Pat Baddeley; sister-in-law, Michelle Zimmerman (Mike); brother-in-law, Larry McBride (Jan); daughter-in-law, Kirsten Andresen; step-grandson, Bryson Bell; step-granddaughter, Iris Bell; nieces, Dayna, Paige, and Jill; and nephews Kevin, Arnold, and Tony.
At Harry’s request there will be no services. Family members will gather at a later date to honor him.
Memorial donations to honor Harry’s life may be made to Whatcom Hospice Foundation online at whatcomhospice.org or mailed to 2901 Squalicum Parkway, Bellingham, WA, 98225, in Harry Allison’s name.
