Garold Gene Myers

Garold Gene “G.G.” Myers, age 77, of Bellingham, Washington, passed away on September 12, 2026.

Garold was born on November 3, 1948, in Bellingham to Harold and Jean Myers. He was born and raised in Bellingham alongside his identical twin brother, Harold D. Myers. He graduated from Bellingham High School in 1967 and later attended Skagit Valley College and Western Washington State College, graduating in 1974 with a degree in Political Science and Economics.

Garold proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1973. During his service, he served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bennington in the South Pacific. Following his military service, Garold built a long career at the Conoco Oil refinery, where he worked as an operator until his retirement.

G.G. was an active member of American Legion Post 7 and will be remembered for his intelligence, quick wit, and unforgettable sense of humor. He had a special talent for coming up with nicknames shortly after meeting someone, which was often his way of letting you know he liked you - or, occasionally, maybe not so much. Most of all, G.G. was never shy about telling the people in his life that he loved them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Jean Myers.

G.G. is survived by his identical twin brother, Harold Myers (Sandy); his former wife and lifelong friend, Debbie Myers; his children, Corey Myers, Kelli Myers (Jay), and Katie DeBusk (Wesley); grandchildren, Mason Myers, Cameron Huntley, and Lyla DeBusk; nephew, Tim Myers; and Tim’s son, Sonny Myers.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, at Greenacres Memorial Park. A memorial service and reception will follow at 3:00 p.m. at American Legion Post 7.
