Bret Alan Espey

Bret Espey, age 54, passed away in Bellingham on July 6, 2021. He was born August 9, 1966 in Seattle to Alan and Roberta Espey. Bret graduated from Lindbergh High School in Renton and later graduated from WWU with a degree in accounting. He married Kathy Lewis on May 18, 1991 in Houston, MS. He was recently hired as a Controller for Bellingham Cold Storage. Bret enjoyed golfing, listening to music, playing guitar, bass, and drums as well as singing and acting in the local theater. Bret loved their lake house where he could bike, hike and spend time on the water with his family and friends. Bret was fun-loving and full of wit and humor. He was preceded in death by his father Alan Espey and his step-father Neil Radford. Bret is survived by his loving wife Kathy Espey, sons Cody and Dustin Espey, mother Roberta “Bobbi” Radford, sister Pamela (Scott) Downing and their children Ryan and Leah, step-brother Richard (Chris) Radford and their children Blain and Mitchell, and many loving relatives and friends. A Celebration of Bret’s life will be held at Westford Funeral Home, 1301 Broadway St. in Bellingham at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 13th. A memorial service will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 410 H.
