Alice Louise Rietman, age 90, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, in Bellingham, Washington.

Alice was born on October 2, 1935, in Bellingham to Ted and Edna (Carson) Soderquist. On February 26, 1954, she married the love of her life, Floyd Rietman, at First Baptist Church in Bellingham. Together they shared nearly 65 years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and community.

Alice devoted her early years to raising her family as a homemaker. Later in life, she returned to the workforce, serving as a receptionist in a medical office, where she enjoyed connecting with patients and coworkers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Rietman; her brother, Fred Soderquist; and her parents, Ted and Edna Soderquist.

Alice is survived by her children Randy (Mandy) Rietman, Steve (Sandi) Rietman, and Lisa Boyles; grandchildren, Stephanie (Tim) Butorac and Aaron Rietman; great-grandchildren, Mila and Henry Butorac; and her sister, Betty Marks.

She will be laid to rest at a private family gathering at Ten Mile Cemetery in Lynden. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Bellingham or Whatcom Hospice.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Spring Creek and Whatcom Hospice for their compassionate support.
