Jack and Nancy Westford
Jack and Nancy purchased the business in 1975 from his parents, John and Veronica Westford. Jack, a licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer, was born and raised in Bellingham, graduated from San Francisco College of Mortuary Science, served in the military, then returned to Bellingham to work in the family business. After graduating from WWU, Nancy taught school, then changed careers to work in funeral service with Jack. As a husband and wife team, Jack and Nancy have also raised three children and continue to be involved in their church, veterans’, and community service activities.
Rob Westford
Rob, son of Jack and Nancy, is the Third Generation Owner and a licensed Funeral Director and Family Service Counselor. Rob graduated from the University of Washington in 1997 with a degree in Business and worked for 5 years in software development in Seattle. In 2002 he returned to Bellingham to work with his family. Rob is a member of the Rotary Club of Bellingham, serves on the Elder Service Providers board, and is active in his church. As an Eagle Scout, Rob continues to volunteer with the local Boy Scout Council. Rob is also a Certified Celebrant and is trained to create and lead “Life-Centered” services.
Greg Brethour
Greg, a Bellingham native, is our pre-planning expert. Greg graduated from WWU with a degree in Business and is a licensed Family Service Counselor. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and three years in the Washington Air National Guard. His wife Ursula works for the Bellingham School District and they have two great kids. Greg is active in the American Legion, Whatcom County Council on Aging, Bellingham Senior Center and his church. Greg can assist your family in understanding the benefits of planning ahead with our Emergency Alert Card and pre-paid funeral plans.
Lance Malmberg
Lance was born and raised in the Seattle area and is currently finishing his degrees in Business Administration at WWU and a professional degree in Mortuary Science. He is also completing his licenses for Funeral Director/Embalming and is currently a licensed Pre-planning counselor. Lance and has been helping the Westford’s since 2006. Lance and his wife Amber have a son, Royce. Lance is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys camping, hiking and fishing. He is also an active volunteer with his church.
Ed Wahl
Ed was born in Bellingham, graduated from WWU in Economics and received his masters degree from UCLA. Ed is a U.S. Army Veteran. Prior to joining Westford Funeral Home, Ed had experience as a hospital administrator and as President of Bonney-Watson Funeral Homes in Seattle. As a licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer, Ed’s years of experience and professional dedication are a great benefit to the families he serves.
Veronica Westford
Veronica is currently a “snowbird” spending winters in Palm Springs, CA, and the rest of the year in Bellingham. She and husband John E. Westford were co-founders of Westford Funeral Home (formerly Homer Mark Mortuary). While working at the funeral home, husband Johnny was Mayor of Bellingham from 1956-1965. John died in 1991. Veronica was born in Mohall, ND, worked as a Registered Nurse, and raised five children. Veronica enjoys spending time with her family, playing bridge, needlework and walking.
